Sacred Light - Mystical Insights into the Festival of Chanukah
"The Menorah, which produces light, represents our increased attachment to G-d via Chochmah. The Torah is called, "A Torah of light." Light enables one to discern the contents of his environment clearly. Likewise, Torah wisdom enables one to perceive the world with clarity, to discern good from evil, the valuable from the petty."
"When the dreidel is stationary, it automatically falls toward one of the four directions. This alludes to the dominance of that particular quality or nation and its respective state of exile. When the dreidel is spinning, however, the centre becomes dominant and the four sides become subordinate to the centre. This implies that the four nations and qualities are being used to serve G-d, the core and centre of the person and the cosmos. This is a state of redemption."

"The Chanukah lights represent the unification of the four letters of G-d's sacred Name. When viewing the lights we should reflect upon the importance of aligning all our faculties together in divine service, thereby drawing G-d's Name upon ourselves and into the world."
